We’re building our founding clinical team!
ROVARA is looking for thoughtful, skilled massage therapists located in the central Iowa area to join our founding team for our Ankeny location. If you are a licensed massage therapist who is looking to practice in an environment that treats you like a professional, invests in your growth, and gives you the support to do exceptional work then we want to hear from you.
What We're Building
Care With Intention
ROVARA is built around therapeutic massage that responds to the person in front of you—not a one-size-fits-all routine. Our therapists work within a clear clinical framework while using their professional judgment to adapt each session to the client's needs.
A Sustainable Practice
Exceptional care shouldn't require therapists to exhaust themselves providing it. With a maximum of four 90-minute sessions per day, protected time between clients, and a predictable full-time schedule, ROVARA is designed to support both excellent work and longevity in the profession.
A Place to Grow
We want talented therapists to become exceptional ones. ROVARA invests in continuing education, paid professional development time, collaborative clinical learning, and opportunities to deepen your expertise as our practice grows.

ROVARA Therapist
As a ROVARA Therapist, you'll provide 90-minute therapeutic massage sessions within ROVARA's nervous-system-informed treatment framework. Rather than following a rigid routine or asking clients to choose from a menu of techniques, you'll assess how stress is presenting in the body, help guide clients toward the appropriate treatment pathway, and adapt your work based on what you observe throughout the session.
ROVARA provides the framework; you provide the professional judgment. We expect our therapists to work thoughtfully within their scope of practice, communicate clearly with clients, recognize when an approach should be modified or avoided, and use their clinical reasoning to provide safe, responsive care.
As a member of our founding clinical team, you'll also help establish the standard of care that will shape ROVARA as we grow. You'll participate in ongoing training and clinical development, document client care, collaborate with the ROVARA team, and contribute your professional perspective when you see opportunities to improve the client or therapist experience.
What your day includes
-
Providing up to four 90-minute therapeutic massage sessions
-
Assessing client needs and adapting treatment within the ROVARA framework
-
Completing timely client documentation
-
Preparing and resetting treatment spaces between sessions
-
Participating in training, clinical discussions, and professional development
-
Collaborating with the team to maintain a consistent, thoughtful client experience
Compensation & Schedule
ROVARA Therapists are full-time W-2 employees paid $28 per hour (starting pay) for their entire scheduled workday—not only for time spent providing massage. Your compensation does not disappear because of an open appointment, a slow booking day, or a client cancellation.
Our standard therapist schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, approximately 9:30 AM–6:00 PM, with a maximum of four 90-minute therapeutic massage sessions per day. The workday is intentionally structured to provide time for documentation, treatment-room reset, preparation, collaboration, and genuine breathing room between clients.
ROVARA is a gratuity-free practice. We believe therapists should be compensated as professionals rather than relying on tips to make their income sustainable. The price of each session reflects the full value of the care being provided, allowing therapists to focus on the quality of their work rather than cultivating gratuity or sales.
